Backend Engineer

Vizrt One Media AB is seeking a full-time Software Engineer to join the Media Asset Management (MAM) business unit in the Stockholm office where you will be working with the platform team who go all-out to produce the broadcasting market’s most competitive client facing applications, improving the daily work for TV anchors, journalists, editors, producers, operators, video editors and graphics artists around the world.

About the role:

• You will work with the team to deliver container based deployment and workflows for Viz One, our media asset management system.
• Collaborate with stake holders on Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to explore new ideas and technologies.
• Contribute to the development of new features and enhancements in existing products and components.
• Work with the team to gradually modernize and future proof our product codebases.
• Support professional services to deliver projects to our customers to meet established scope and deadlines.
• Develop and maintain test automation to validate software functionality.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and work with stakeholders to optimize software performance.
• Maintain and improve the quality of existing code.

Requirements

• Experience with at least one high level programming language (e.g. Python, Perl) and/or one lower level programming language (e.g. C++, Go).
• Experience with cloud services (AWS is ideal), containers, and/or Kubernetes.
• An understanding of AI products and features particularly in the areas of semantic search or video analysis.
• Knowledge of audio and video encoding is a plus.
• Experience with relational databases is a plus.
• Experience implementing RESTful API services is a plus.
• Experience of working in an agile/scrum environment.
