xx.xx.24 - More updates coming soon
Stay tuned for further updates!
08.05.24 - Job seniority levels added
We've now added job seniority levels to Job Listings as well as Search Filters.
We are categorizing job opportunities based on their job title and grouping them into:
- Junior: entry level jobs.
- Mid-Senior: intermediate to senior level jobs - usually these are individual contributor roles.
- Lead-Executive: mainly people management and leadership roles.
As this information is based on job titles’ wording, we acknowledge that this might not be a perfect classification system, although we believe it delivers an accurate level for most jobs and it might further help you on the job seeking process.
06.05.24 - Feedback on our Soft Launch phase
Here are the updates we've made to our website, after the soft launch phase.
We've been working hard to make job search as incredibly easy as it should be. For that we implemented some suggestions from early users and considered others for future enhancements.
Here's a rundown of what's changed and what's on the horizon.
Implemented improvements:
- Enhanced Formatting: We've addressed issues with formatting on mobile devices for specific job posts and improved copy formatting across the board, ensuring a seamless reading experience.
- Prominent Blog Highlights: Our blog articles now enjoy greater visibility throughout the website, making it easier for users to come across valuable insights and resources.
- Streamlined Homepage: We got rid of excessive scrolling! We've minimized the amount of scrolling required on our homepage, allowing users to access essential information more efficiently.
- Refined Navigation: We've created some redundancy in shortcuts, decreasing the effort to come across essential parts of our website.
- Improved Search Filters: Users have greater flexibility with our filtering system. We got rid of some rigidity with mandatory fields.
- Job Area Clarity: We've clarified the scope of job areas by refining aggregation criteria and naming conventions, ensuring that users find the most relevant opportunities easily.
- Bug Fixes and Design Tweaks: We've squashed some bugs and made subtle adjustments to the design for a more polished browsing experience.
Future considerations (work in progress):
- Salary Range: Due to cultural norms, including salary ranges in job postings remains a challenge. However, rest assured, we're exploring ways to address this issue in the future.
- Job Seniority Level: We're actively gathering and structuring information on job seniority to provide users with more comprehensive job listings.
- Working Regime Details: We recognize the importance of distinguishing between remote, hybrid, and onsite work arrangements. While our current classification focuses on remote vs. non-remote roles, we're exploring ways to provide more granular information in the future.
- Job Collections: We're working on implementing job collections to facilitate easier searching for specific groups of jobs, such as those from startups in particular industries.
- Searching Companies and filtering them by HQ Location and Number of Employees: we understand the significance of these filters and are already in the process of incorporating them into our search functionality.
At startupjobs.pt, we're committed to continuous improvement, and your feedback is instrumental in shaping the future of our platform. We're excited about these enhancements and look forward to bringing you even more features and improvements in the months ahead.
