Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on Electronics Diagnostics & Repair Engineer/Technician with a strong background in electronics to join our growing team in Portugal. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing faulty Electronics Central Units (ECUs) returned from the field. Your work will ensure these units can be reused in production or as spare parts. You will also create detailed technical reports to help improve product reliability and collaborate with the R&D and production teams. Additionally, you will support the Technical Writer in preparing maintenance documentation for field technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
ECU (Electronic Central Units) Inspection & Diagnostics:
- Inspect and diagnose returned Electronic Central Units to identify faults and root causes.
- Use advanced diagnostic tools and methods to pinpoint hardware and software issues.
ECU Repair & Reconditioning:
- Repair faulty ECUs to restore them for reuse in production or as spare parts.
- Ensure high standards of quality and reliability for all repaired units.
Technical Reporting:
- Prepare detailed reports outlining issues identified, root causes, and repair actions.
- Provide feedback to the R&D and production teams to help improve design and manufacturing processes.
Support for Documentation Creation:
- Assist the Technical Writer in developing repair guides, troubleshooting procedures, and other technical documentation.
- Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing platforms to improve the efficiency of maintenance personnel.
Continuous Improvement:
- Collaborate with the R&D, production, quality, and maintenance teams to recommend improvements based on recurring issues.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in electronics and smart locker systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing electronic devices in an industrial or technical setting.
- Strong understanding of electronics circuitry, PCB layouts, and diagnostic tools.
- Experience in technical reporting and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with diagnostic software, firmware updates, and hardware testing.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration (R&D, Production, Quality).
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Extra valued skills
- Experience in maintaining or repairing smart locker systems or similar IoT devices.
- Familiarity with ISO standards related to electronics repair and quality control.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrialization environment.
- Written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical details in both Portuguese and English.
