3. About the Role
We are looking for a Hardware Engineer familiar with embedded systems and processor integration to support the development and maintenance of the custom electronics for the Bhout Boxing Bag, along with its associated tools and accessories. In this role, you will be part of a cross-disciplinary team of system and software engineers, working across multiple technology stacks in an Agile environment.
The Bhout Boxing Bag features fully customized hardware modules, meticulously designed to meet the project’s unique requirements. You will play a pivotal role in developing innovative features and hardware enhancements, contributing to the product’s continuous evolution.
4. What You'll Do
- Design and develop custom electronics for onboard sensors and processing units, including microcontrollers and processors.
- Select peripherals and components such as displays, cameras, and sensors.
- Test prototypes and support both mechanical and software testing efforts.
- Create PCB designs for ARM-based processing units featuring high-speed interfaces.
- Define harness specifications to ensure robust electrical connectivity.
- Define quality standards and establish appropriate testing procedures.
- Assist with troubleshooting and maintaining product functionality throughout its lifecycle.
- Collaborate with system designers and software developers to ensure seamless system integration.
- Work closely with the product team to ensure proper mechanical integration of custom components.
- Partner with the manufacturing team to optimize production practices and ensure efficient assembly processes.
- Develop firmware and low-level drivers to support new hardware features.
- Conduct hardware validation, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure robust performance.
5. What You'll Need
- Must:
- BSc in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in :
- PCB design, using state of the art software (Kicad or Altium preferred)
- Microcontroller circuit design, specifically PICs and STM32.
- Multicore multiprocessor low power processing unit circuit design, specifically ARM based.
- High speed communications design, e.g LVDS, MIPI CSI.
- Ability to travel to factory and clubs to provide support when needed.
- Good documenting skills, in line with industry standards.
- Desire to learn and continuously improve.
- High autonomy.
- Nice to have:
- Experience in hardware testing procedures.
- Knowledge of industry standards for harnessing, using dedicated software (e.g. RapidHarness or similar).
- Experience in hardware assembly and manufacturing.
- Familiar with Agile development framework.
- Experience with CAD software and simple mechanical prototyping.
