As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll be part of a client team building innovative products. About You:

 

A YLD Software Engineering Consultant is a highly-skilled developer who exemplifies the highest standard in software engineering and enjoys sharing their knowledge and experience with others.

 

You’ll have the opportunity to build and deliver software within some interesting projects, both in terms of the product and the methodology. We work in an Agile environment (Scrum) with a test-first mindset (actually, writing code without tests should be unthinkable). We are also big advocates of pair programming and nothing is released until we have a code review.

 

You have a real passion for problem-solving and are an active learner who gets excited by working collaboratively with those around you.

 

Your day-to-day responsibilities will look like this:

  • Crafting excellent products! As a Full-Stack Engineer, you will be building new features and integrations that meet the needs of our clients’ customers, as well as improving their Digital Platform;
  • Working closely with your team, regularly collaborating on engineering initiatives, to continually push yourselves to be better;
  • Participating in regular show and tells, promoting your work to both your department and the wider company;

You’ll have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven commercial experience of working with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React, as well as C, C++ or Rust;
  • In-depth knowledge of CSS in its multiple applications (Tailwind, CSS in JavaScript, CSS Modules, etc);
  • Thoughtful about Component composition and state management, with experience in multiple patterns (e.g. MobX, Redux, Context, etc);
  • Knowledge and experience with the up-to-date transpiling, bundling, and packaging ecosystem (e.g. esbuild, vite, yarn, turborepo, etc);
  • Used to design tools (e.g. Figma) and its API and integration tools;
  • Opinionated and experienced with linting and formatting tools;
  • Experience with documentation generation tools, both for libraries and for components;
  • Strong and vast experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery, as well as Infrastructure as Code tools and techniques;
  • Experience in testing your products with Unit, Integration, End to End, and Visual Regression tests;
  • Experience with Python for small scripts or test integrations;
  • Experience with modern build systems and tooling (e.g., CMake, Cargo, Bazel);
  • Strong background in debugging and performance profiling tools (e.g., GDB, Valgrind, or equivalent tools for Rust/C++);
  • Familiarity with cross-platform development (e.g., embedded systems, Linux, macOS, and Windows);
  • Familiarity with orchestration and containerization tooling (e.g. Docker);
  • Familiarity with performance monitoring tools;
  • Knowledge of networking protocols, real-time systems, or similar domains is a strong advantage.
  • Experience in distributed version control systems (e.g. Git)
