The role:

Dashboard team owns the seller dashboard, customer portal and other applications, which require new features and improvements as we scale to serve a rapidly growing number of sellers. The team is part of the Billing group, which is responsible for transaction processing, subscriptions, customer data and more. We often work with a range of other teams, including Payments, InfoSec, Platform (SRE) & DX.

You’ll get to collaborate with multiple teams, alongside engineers, product managers, and designers. Getting involved in a wide range of areas which will provide you with plenty of opportunities to develop your own skills and ultimately grow your career as a valued member of the engineering team.

What you'll do:

  • Work on backend services in one of our supported languages (primarily with Go or at times with legacy services in PHP) to support critical applications used by a global network of sellers & customers, used by hundreds of thousands of users per month
  • Collaborate on features to a high standard, pairing with other engineers when necessary, as well as working independently
  • Practise DevOps, you’re responsible for getting your code to production, supporting and monitoring its performance via SLOs
  • Use the latest AWS services available to run your code
  • Test your and your team’s code, both manually and with unit and integration tests where applicable
  • Help design a stable platform to support continuous growth
  • Mentoring and coaching other engineers

We'd love to hear from you if you:

  • Have a solid development background with Go experience
  • Have experience designing and building systems to handle high traffic at scale in a cloud-based environment in AWS
  • Are someone who enjoys collaborating with our technical and non-technical departments
  • Have a proactive attitude towards finding ways to improve the code and team processes
  • A strong understanding of the development process - from design through to deployment, maintenance, and what that means for day-to-day development
  • Are someone who takes pride in what you build
  • Are interested in what new tools and techniques you could introduce to us!
