You will be part of the Vehicle Data team, working directly on the development and validation of new features for the company's main product and on studies to optimize communications in automotive systems.
The intern’s duties will be mainly in the area of automotive communication protocols. They will need to be independent in monitoring digital communication protocols using measuring equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and communication simulators. Knowledge of the operation of various types of protocols on different physical and logical layers, such as CAN-Bus, will be a preferred factor. The ability to identify the protocols present in different vehicles through literature research will also be important. The intern will prepare and configure decoding systems using the various tools available.
In this internship, you will
- Analyze and decode raw communications data from systems embedded in vehicles;
- Create and maintain databases of translated signals;
- Analyze fault diagnosis code data;
- Assist in the development of new tools to provide faster support for new vehicles;
- Contribute to the improvement of processes related to the Vehicle Data team;
- Collaborate with Embedded Systems Engineers on new system requirements.
Profile
We are looking for a student undergoing Electrical and Computer Engineering or similar field studies to carry out research, development, testing and data decoding in the area of protocol communication in vehicles. Knowledge of firmware and hardware related to microcontrollers and C/C++ programming will be considered bonus points. The internship requires some self-organization skills and good communication skills.
Internship Plan
The internship will consist of the following activities and tasks:
- T1 - Analysis of the state of the art - Analysis of the respective state of the art (SoA) comprising research and testing of technologies, tools, processes and methodologies to be used;
- T2 - Developing skills - Learning basic and advanced knowledge. This phase includes meetings and day-to-day monitoring of the Vehicle Data team at Stratio;
- T3 - Research and Decoding - Learning to use the various tools and platforms available for the work to be carried out. Acquire basic knowledge of decoding in various types of communication protocols;
- T4 - Implementation - Implement the solution found. Create and improve new configurations in various vehicle models;
- T5 - Validation - Validation, testing and data collection according to the requirements identified. Critical analysis and identification of future work;
- T6 - Documentation - Writing documentation of all the work carried out. This includes writing the final internship report as well as auxiliary documentation in Stratio's internal documentation repositories.
