THE ROLE
As the Asset Strategy Specialist - Infleet & Defleet you will be an expert within a central team that focuses on the development of strategies related to design of a high-performance global fleet operating model and implementation of the processes, policies and procedures that bring those strategies into reality to drive operational results on availability and quality of the fleet, customer satisfaction coming from the fleet and operational efficiency in operating that fleet.
You will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies that ensure the smooth execution of processes related to the introduction and removal of vehicles from the fleet, as well as the management of all associated documentation. Your role involves defining and standardizing procedures that guide local and regional teams in executing these processes efficiently and consistently across all operations globally. You will oversee the strategies for infleeting, defleeting, and administrative tasks, ensuring that vehicles are prepared for rental or sale according to the highest standards, and that all documentation is accurately managed and accessible when needed.
Reporting directly to the Asset Strategy Director, this role is crucial for maintaining fleet integrity, optimizing the lifecycle management of vehicles, and ensuring regulatory compliance across all markets.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
- Take ownership of creating strategies and processes related to the infleet process, ensuring that vehicles are properly introduced to the fleet. This includes standardizing local procedures (vehicle inspection, GPS installation, equipping vehicles,... ), introduction vehicle information in fleet management systems, handling importation/ exportation/registration processes and coordination with suppliers, insurance activation and coordination between the teams.
- Guarantee that the mechanisms for infleet coordination between the teams are in place so that infleet process is executed with quality and minimizing the time the vehicles spend in this process.
- Take ownership of creating strategies and processes related to the defleet process, ensuring that vehicles are efficiently prepared for sale. This includes steps such as decommissioning, cleaning, inspecting, and preparing documentation for resale.
- Design and manage the strategies related to vehicle documentation, ensuring that all necessary documents are properly maintained, stored, and accessible. This includes defining what documents are stored within the vehicles, locally or centrally, as well as the procedures for documentation movements to avoid losses and guarantee immediate availability.
- Continuously monitor the effectiveness of infleet, defleet, and admin processes, using data-driven insights to implement improvements and ensure the highest levels of operational efficiency and compliance.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure that your specialized knowledge in infleet, defleet, and documentation management is embedded into all relevant operational processes, ensuring a cohesive approach to fleet management.
- Develop, coordinate and deliver projects within your area of expertise and that help to improve our fleet operating model so that they meet the standards of quality and timing of the organization.
- Lead, train and manage the junior team members of the Asset Strategy team that are allocated to projects and initiatives that you will be coordinating. Act as a mentor and guide to less experienced analysts, sharing your expertise and helping to develop the next generation of talent within the team.
- Collaborate with Regional Teams: Work closely with regional directors and local teams to adapt and apply central strategies to specific regional contexts, ensuring successful implementation and execution.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Holds a degree in Business Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or similar.
- 4+ years of experience in a strategic consulting firm or a strategic role within the operations or maintenance department of a company that manages a fleet of vehicles globally, infleet, defleet, and documentation management.
- Specialist Knowledge in Infleet, Defleet, and Documentation Management: In-depth knowledge of vehicle lifecycle management, including the processes required for introducing and removing vehicles from the fleet, as well as managing vehicle documentation, with a proven track record of driving significant improvements in these areas.
- Passion by process improvements and high attention to detail
- Strong ability to analyze complex repair and maintenance data, develop insights, and translate them into actionable strategies that enhance operational efficiency and vehicle availability and reliability.
- Communication and Leadership skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively and influence decision-making at senior levels. Proven experience in mentoring and developing junior team members.
- Collaborative Leadership: Strong ability to collaborate across multiple teams and regions, with a focus on ensuring that central strategies are effectively implemented and adapted to local contexts.
- Results-Oriented and ambitious: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and focused on delivering results that contribute to the company’s operational success.
- Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
