THE ROLE

As an Estimator & Mechanical Expert, you will enhance the approval process for non-standard repair quotes across mechanical, body, and electrical issues while promoting regional and local autonomy in van repairs.
You will own the development, implementation, and monitoring of SOPs for damage assessment and repair approvals. Additionally, you’ll refine damage trees, create training materials, and regional and local teams with the tools to streamline decision-making and execute repairs effectively.
This role is key to optimizing fleet performance, reducing repair costs, and standardizing damage management. Based in Lisbon HQ, you will report to the Asset Strategy Director and collaborate with Regional Directors, Depot Managers, and Regional and Local teams.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

  • Design and implement SOPs for damage assessment and identification, repair approvals, and cost optimization.
  • Develop and refine decision-making tools, including damage trees, to enhance repair assessment processes.
  • Build and deploy guidelines that increase regional and local autonomy in van repairs.
  • Oversee the approval process for non-standard repair quotes, including mechanical, body repair, and electrical issues.
  • Deliver training sessions to Asset Specialists and local teams to improve repair assessment capabilities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of repair decisions and costs across systems and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and improve cost efficiency by standardizing repair assessment and approval criteria.
  • Drive change management initiatives and address resistance to new repair processes at the regional level.

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. 
  • 3-5 years of experience as cost estimator or quote approval for mechanical, body repair, or electrical issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle mechanics, including how cars and vans operate.
  • Understanding of market standards for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess repair costs and optimize decision-making.
  • Resilience and ability to handle stakeholder pushback, particularly in cost-related discussions.
  • Fluent in English (mandatory)
