We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team at Usercentrics. This role is critical to ensuring that our customers, both business and technical audiences, can effectively understand and utilize our products, including APIs and related technologies. The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of technical concepts and excels at communicating them in a clear, concise, and engaging manner.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive customer-facing product documentation, including user guides, API documentation, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and UX designers to understand product functionality and gather the necessary technical information.
- Translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand content tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ensure documentation accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand voice and style guidelines.
- Work with customer support and marketing teams to identify and address documentation gaps based on customer feedback.
- Stay updated on product changes, updates, and new features to ensure documentation is always current and relevant.
- Proactively suggest improvements to existing documentation workflows, tools, and processes.
- Create and manage templates, standards, and best practices for technical writing within the organization.
- Use diagrams, screenshots, and examples to enhance understanding of technical content.
- Research and implement tools and technologies that improve the documentation process.
- 4+ years of proven experience as a technical writer or similar role, preferably in the SaaS or technology industry.
- Strong organisational skills and capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a focus on clarity and precision.
- Ability to grasp complex technical concepts and explain them in a way that is accessible to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency with documentation tools such as Confluence, Swagger, Markdown, or similar platforms.
- Basic familiarity with programming languages, data formats (e.g., JSON, XML), or tools commonly used by developers is a plus.
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) and knowledge base tools.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in creating video tutorials, interactive documentation, or other multimedia content.
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, English, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A portfolio of previous technical writing samples is highly desirable.
