Senior WordPress Web Developer (m/f/d)
Job Description
Usercentrics is a global leader in data privacy and privacy-led marketing solutions. We believe there is no need for a trade-off between growth and privacy compliance. Our vision is to unlock the potential of data privacy to empower a thriving digital ecosystem. We work with companies to create a healthy balance between data-driven business and privacy-led marketing for every size of enterprise. Our customers build trust with their users through improved transparency and control to drastically improve marketing and monetization, while achieving full privacy compliance.
As a WordPress Web Developer, you will leverage the latest features of the WordPress ecosystem, including the block editor and Full Site Editing, to create high-performing, accessible, and conversion-focused digital experiences. You’ll take a modern, DevOps-driven approach to development—utilizing CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments, and automated testing—to deliver secure, scalable, and lightning-fast websites. With a strong grounding in data privacy compliance (GDPR, CCPA), you’ll ensure that all customer data is handled responsibly. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, use agile processes, and your work will not only maintain our core web presence but constantly evolve it, improving UX, SEO, and user engagement through iterative enhancements informed by analytics and user feedback.

- Integrate REST or SOAP APIs to enrich site functionality and user interactions.
- Collaborate with UX and design teams to deliver exceptional user experiences, incorporating user feedback and optimizing site usability.
- Prioritize website security, applying best practices and proactive monitoring to protect site integrity.
- Continuously refine and improve existing plugins, tools, and processes to streamline development and deployment workflows.
- Take full ownership of identified issues, ensuring prompt resolution or effective escalation to the appropriate stakeholders.
- 6+ years of hands-on WordPress development or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of PHP development or equivalent experience.
- Proven success in crafting conversion-focused websites and landing pages.
- Strong ability to identify, diagnose, and address potential performance issues or errors.
- A genuine passion for web technologies and open-source communities.
- Understanding of digital marketing principles and the ability to align development efforts with business objectives.
- A reliable, self-motivated work style with strong problem-solving skills.
- Advanced knowledge of technical SEO (on-page and off-page), along with familiarity with Core Web Vitals.
- Proficiency with Git, development environments, and staging workflows.
- Experience integrating WordPress plugins and themes, and building custom Gutenberg blocks.
- Front-end expertise (JS, SCSS, AJAX), with a keen eye on SEO and performance metrics.
- Back-end proficiency in PHP, WordPress, and RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with server technologies: caching layers, CDNs, Nginx, MySQL, profiling tools, and Xdebug.
- Excellent English communication skills, adept at conveying technical concepts across teams and stakeholders.
