Technical Writer

As a Technical Writer in the Industrialization team at Bloq.it, you will play a vital role in ensuring our products are thoroughly documented for deployment, production, and maintenance. Your work will help deliver high-quality smart locker solutions by creating production guidelines, work instructions, and other essential documents for internal teams and external suppliers. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, R&D, and Production, to produce comprehensive, clear, and user-friendly documentation covering all product aspects, from installation and setup to troubleshooting and long-term maintenance.

What will be your responsibilities

Develop and Maintain Product Documentation

• Create detailed, step-by-step product manuals, deployment guides, production guidelines, and maintenance instructions for Bloq.it’s smart lockers;
• Develop clear, concise work instructions for production teams and external suppliers to ensure consistent manufacturing quality;
• Tailor documentation for various audiences, including technicians, engineers, production teams, and customer support staff.

Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams

• Work closely with Industrialization, R&D, and Operations teams to gather technical information, understand product features, and address potential issues;
• Coordinate with Production, Quality Assurance, and external suppliers to document manufacturing processes and best practices, reducing the risk of improper handling or assembly;
• Ensure that production guidelines and work instructions are aligned with supplier capabilities and Bloq.it’s quality standards.

Create Clear, Visual, and Accessible Documentation

• Incorporate diagrams, visuals, flowcharts, and step-by-step procedures to enhance clarity and accessibility, especially for production teams;
• Ensure documentation is well-organized, standardized, and easily accessible via internal platforms or for external suppliers as part of product packaging or digital access.

Support Continuous Improvement

• Regularly update documentation to reflect product enhancements, software updates, and changes in production or assembly processes;
• Gather and integrate feedback from internal teams and external suppliers to improve documentation quality and address production challenges.

Ensure Compliance and Quality Standards

• Collaborate with the Quality department to ensure all product documentation, including production guidelines and work instructions, complies with internal standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations;
• Document and track corrective actions based on customer feedback or internal and supplier quality assessments.

Training and Knowledge Transfer

• Assist in developing training materials for internal teams, external suppliers, and customers, ensuring proper product use, handling, and assembly.

Serve as a knowledge resource for the team and suppliers

• Help bridge gaps between technical development and practical production.

What are the requirements to join us in this position

• 2+ years in technical writing, preferably in tech, hardware, or manufacturing sectors. Experience working with suppliers or production teams is a plus;
• Familiarity with an industrial environment, IoT devices, smart lockers, or related technology. Experience in documenting production processes or work instructions is a strong advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely explain complex technical concepts to both internal teams and external suppliers in Portuguese and English;
• Strong attention to detail, ensuring all production and assembly documentation is accurate and leaves no room for errors or misinterpretation;
• Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with external suppliers;
• A proactive mindset, able to identify gaps in documentation and suggest improvements for production, deployment, or maintenance;
• Fluency in English and Portuguese is required. Proficiency in French and Spanish is a plus.
